5 Best Cashback Apps That Everyone Should Use

When it comes to new year’s resolutions, saving money is always in the top ten. So, with the start of the new year, I wanted to share some of my favorite cashback apps I use to help optimize my everyday spending.

Rakuten

Rakuten (formerly eBates) is my most used cashback app. Rakuten provides two different ways to shop: app or desktop plugin. With Rakuten, you get cashback on almost any purchase you make online – typically 2 to 5 percent, but there are times when it is higher. You get paid by Rakuten once per quarter, which is a nice little bonus. You also decide how you want to be paid (Check or PayPal). I use Rakuten with almost every online purchase I make (including travel) as well as with some in-store purchases.

Ibotta

Ibotta is my favorite cashback app to partner with my grocery shopping and Target runs. To utilize this app, select the products you want to purchase before you go shopping, buy the items, and then upload the receipt at the end of your shopping trip. You can also link a card with your Loyalty Account, and Ibotta will take care of everything if you use that card on your shopping trip. Ibotta also offers cashback offers for in-store purchases as well.

Dosh

Dosh is probably one of the easier cashback apps I use in my day-to-day. All you have to do is download the app and securely link your credit and/or debit cards. Whenever you pay with your linked cards, Dosh gets you cashback. It’s completely passive once you set it up. I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to eat or drink at the places on Dosh, but it’s a nice bonus when you go to one of those places and get instant cashback. When you hit the minimum payout amount, you can transfer your cash to bank accounts, PayPal, or donate to charity from the app.

GetUpside

GetUpside is probably my favorite find of cashback apps. I do a lot of driving for work (like 8,000 miles in the past four months), and with that comes a lot of stops at gas stations. This is where GetUpside comes in to play. GetUpside partners with local gas stations who offer you up to 25¢/gal cashback on gas. All you have to do is claim the offer at the gas station you are visiting, pump your gas, and then upload your receipt.

Use my code 8K7BV on the GetUpside app to earn a 15¢/gallon bonus.

OnMyWay

OnMyWay pays you cash for every mile you drive without using your phone. This app pays out $.05 OnMyWay Cash for every mile you drive and don’t text, and you can use OnMyWay Cash to buy any of their Marathon deals and enjoy instant offers just as a perk.

I hope these tools will help you in saving for 2020.
