I have exciting news… I’ve joined my first blogger network, Atlanta Blogger Network, and on Tuesday night I attended my first event! One of my birthday goals this year was to get more involved in the Atlanta community, and what better way than by networking with other bloggers in the area!
On Tuesday night I drove down to Pink Barre Buckhead for the group’s holiday party. I donned my tacky t-shirt, tacky socks, my awesome Santa hat, and was ready to network and “barre” it up. I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I walked in, but I was quickly made to feel welcome! It was great getting to meet some of the faces behind the blogs I read on a
daily regular basis.
We all mingled in the lobby of the studio eating some delicious desserts, made by Melissa, and champagne. We then grabbed our equipment – a ball, a resistance band and a pair of 2 pound weights – and headed into the studio to get started with our introductory class to barre.
Tara, our instructor, walked through the fundamental premise behind barre exercise and then got us started. We worked our abs, our arms, our legs … well everything really! I thought I would be good after working out with a trainer for almost two months, but barre is tough work! Despite the struggle, we all laughed our way through it and came out on the other side! It ended up being a lot of fun! After taking the introductory class, I can definitely see the benefits in this exercise program and why so many people enjoy it.
After our workout, we all headed back into the lobby for more desserts and drinks, and for our raffle. I ended up winning a t-shirt from one of our sponsors, Rafflecopter. I rarely win anything with raffles, so I was really pumped about it! We also got some awesome goodies in our goodie bag from our fantastic sponsors!
We finished the night off with a tacky sweater contest (congrats to Kasey for winning…your ensemble was fantastic!)!
It was such a fun night, and I’m so glad I went! I’m looking forward to connecting with these ladies inside and outside the blogosphere!
